The state government has partially rolled back the tariff for consumers using up to 500 units. The final revised tariff is below:

At last, the speculated power tariff increase is in TNEB comes into effect from April 1, 2012. ( Now no longer valid. See above for right tariff)

Unlike the previous tariff plans, there is no uniform slabs for consumers. Four types of slab has been in force depending on the usage: Upto 100 unit, upto 200 units, upto 500 units, above 500 units. These slabs are created specifically to discourage consumers from utilizing more electricity.

All consumers are affected, but above 500 units consumers are the severely affected. Due to this differential slabs based on consumption, a consumer using 200 units will pay Rs360/- , but if the consumption is just one unit more 201, he has to pay: Rs 603.5/-

For 1000 units of bimonthly consumption the tariff will be whopping: Rs 4675/-

There are 3 phases for getting NOC:

1. 1. Need to take clearance letter from the Financier where we taken bike Loan.
2. 2. Need to take police clearance letter from Asst commissioner of police in Egmore.
3. 3. Need to take NOC from RTO with above collected letters.

Phase I: Taking clearance letter from the Financier ,where we taken bike Loan is very easy. We can go their office directly ,they will in 10 mins.

Phase II: For taking police clearance letter we need to take below documents .if you submit it in morning 11AM ,they will give clearance letter in 5 PM. Asst police commoner office is too good. They are maintaining like corporate office. No issues here.Every where people will guide there .

1.  Enquiry Form ( we can get in Crime branch beureu). Update: The crime records buereu is now located in Chindaripet ( no longer in EGMORE police comm office)t.Very near to Chindaripet MRTS station( Arunachalam street). Ph: 044 23452549. Call this number before you vistit

2.  Requiting Letter ( we need to write on white paper reason for NOC and our bike details)

3.  Xerx copy of RC book.

4.  Xerox copy of insurance

5.  Xerox copy of driving license (Identity proof)

6.  Address proof (we can give any one of  Passport,PAN card + office id xerox,ration card xerox,any GOVT id proof). Please note they need address proof in Chennai. And they donot accept RC book as address proof.

Phase III:

 While  Taking NOC from RTO we will see real GOVT office.We need to pay the fees in Fees section with below mentioned documents. Govt fees for NOC is 50/- and separation letter fee if we take bike in loan is 125/- .So total we need to pay is 175/- . But broker asked me pay 1800/- for only 3rd phase ;-((((( for 175 /- work. after paying the fees we need to submit in submission section. After submitting they will ask us come after 5 working days to collect NOC. As we are going directly they will make us to come at least 2 more rounds extra)

1. Original copy of RC book .

2. Xerox copy of insurance.

3. Pollution check letter.

4. Form 28 four copies (we can get it online it self).We need to fill the copies along with taking the chassis number pencil Xerox with pencil on each copy like in our RC book.

The TN Bus tickets can be now booked at the Official Booking Site. You need to carry the printout of the Ticket same like IRCTC. Also they give a PNR number for the booked ticket( also sent in SMS to your mobile) which can used to take printouts later via the site.

Indian Oil has provision for booking Gas via online facility as well. For booking online visit the following site:

For first time you need to register. At present Online booking is available only for UP, Haryana and Delhi. Soon it will be available for other states including TamilNadu.

To Make Property Tax Payment:

1) Visit the Online payment site

2) Fill in the Zone/Division Code/Bill No/ Sub No available in  your Corporation Property Tax Card

3) Submit the form and after processing you will be presented with any dues.

4) Select the check box for payment and submit.

5) Select the payment method and submit and you will be redirected to payment gateway(Internet Baking/Credit Card) and make the payment.

6) Be careful: Once the payment is made on the baking site/credit card payment is done, the site should automatically redirect back to corporation site. Please wait for few minutes(as the corporation site is very slow in processing). Never refresh the page till the receipt is generated( if you do then you may have to contact them to rectify which will be a painful process)

7) The receipt is presented. Make a print out or save the receipt for your future reference
