Movies Now Channel from times group is now being broad-casted in Chennai Cable TV as free to air channel. Also Sun Direct is the onlyÂ DTH(as on 28 Dec 2010) to air this channel in HD format. But, soon other DTH operators will start the HD services. So, don’t buy Sun Direct HD for this channel alone. From what I read , Sun DTH has the poor customer service.

After a lot of speculations about the release date of Manmadhan Ambu, it is finally getting released on 23 Dec 2010. There were issue with teh Vijay Movie Kavalan release at the end of December. looks like Kavalan release is postponed to give way for Manmadan Ambu.

Sivaji vs Endhiran Uruvana Kathai: Kalaignar TV Sun TV battle

We all know the Sun TV is the number one TV in India, if we take number of programmes in Top 100. They dominate the whole Tamil viewer ship. They make sure audience does not watch other channels, even if they telecast good programme. But, now they have a bigger competition with Kalaignar TV acquiring most of the new Tamil films.

When Kalaignar TV got the rights of Super Star Rajini’s Sivaji three years back, I was wondering how Sun TV can answer that. I thought Sun TV would lose the battle with Sivaji and lose the viewership in that slot completely. But, they had answer with the help of ‘Endhiran‘. They started giving repeated advertisement on all their Network of Channels( Sun,KTV,Sun News, Sun Music) about the ‘Endhiran Uruvana Kathai’ to be aired at the same slot as Sivaji! That’s why they are clear number one!

So, what’s the final verdict? What people saw on Diwali evening? The Boss or the Robot won the battle? Following the TAM ratings for the Diwali week:

Kalaignar managed a 1.56 TVR and and All India rank of 38 ( The best ever rank for any Tamil TV other than Sun TV)

Sun TV got 1.09 TVR with All India rank of 52 for Making of Endhiran – The Robot!

Though Kalaignar TVÂ was the winner, they could get a fair share of viewers for ‘Making of Endhiran’. We know they have a reason for making a high risk/high budget Endhiran. That came to their rescue. If Sun TV had Sivaji rights, they would have got >2.5 TVR and less than 15 All India rank.

But, then still it is an indicator for the Sun TV’s losing dominance!

84% of Chennai Kids are on Social Network Sites like Facebook Orkut

A recent survey shows 84% of Chennai kids who has access to computers have an account in Orkut/Facebook/Twitter.

These are some of the findigs of a survey conducted by Tata Consultancy Service on 10,000 children in the age group of 12- 18 in 11 cities across India. Chennai equalled the national average of 65% when it comes to chatting online. Chatting is followed by sports or games (55%) and reading or studying (38%). Many also use it for listening to music (27%), watching TV (31%) and movies (8%).

Endhiran Review: My Views about Superstar Rajini’s Movie

There is already thousands of reviews about Enthiran. Most of them are positive ones. The average rating would be 3.5 to 4 out of 5. This is a great feat for a movie.

My verdict: Simply superb. Dont’ waste time in reading reviews. Just go to the nearest theater and enjoy it!

What I did’t like/could have been better in Endhiran:

Unnecessary song sequences. Most of them were forced into the screenplay
Wasted Santhanam and Karunas
Lengthy chasing sequence in second half
The mosquito catching by the Robot Rajini

What I liked/beautiful scenes in the movie: ( I liked all other parts . Some specific instances below)

Vaseegaran asks Chitti ” Walk like me”. Chitti walks in Thalavar style!
What is your address? Chitti says, I have only IP address
The scene where the Chitti was questioned ” Whether God exists or not”
Bohra demonstrating Chitti’s weakness and rejecting it.
First time ChittiÂ starts showing emotions
Chitti competing with Dr. V for Sana and the subsequent dance at Sana Birth Day party
Vasegaran breaking down Chitti after it’s love kavithai fiasco in front of Military officers
Chitti 2.0 catching Vaseegaran in the crowd of Robots.Karuppu Adddu dialogue. Only thalaivar can do it.
Thousands of Rajini’s at the end! What else do we need

Super Star Rajinikanth’s Enthiran Bookings started today(September 25 2010). Movie is being released on October 1st!

Online booking in multiplexes are very difficult as they sell the tickets to corporate at higher rates. So very less chance of booking tickets in theater or online for PVR,AGS Cinemas, Sathyam and Escape or Maayajal.

Currently the booking can be easily done in theaters in outskirts like Kolathur Ganga Cinemas, Ambattur Rakki , Saidapet Raj Theater.

But, other theaters may add early morning shows which will be added to these online booking. So chances are that you can watch the movie by the next weekend! Enjoy Superstar’s Endhiran!
