Arasu Cable officially launched in Chennai

A full page advertisements in leading Dailies in Chennai announced the arrival of Arasu Cable Corporation MSO to Chennai( 20th Oct 2012). Arasu cable is successfully operational in Tamilnadu except Chennai. The reason for the delay is due to the digitization drive in four metros: Delhi, Kolkatta, Mumbai & Chennai. It is expected to offer services from Nov 2012.

By 31 Dec 2012, all analog cable should be replaced with digital transmission with Cable Set Top Box. If you need to watch Television either buy Cable STB from yout cable operator or move to a DTH providers liek TataSky, Dish TV, Sundirect, BIG TV, Airtel Digital TV or Videocon D2H.

Arasu Cable is now accepting Rs 500/- advance booking for STBs. The STB would be provided in first come first served basis. On the other hand SCV cable which controls the entire Chennai segment is already selling STB to the customers. It is yet be seen if Arasu will bet the Cable operators from SCV MSO under its fold( like they did in other parts of Tamilnadu). Losing Chennai to Arasu Cable will be a big blow to Sun Network group and they would make sure that does not happen.

If you do not want to be get in the SCV & Arasu Cable war, get a DTH of your choice.
