Paris/Chennai, India – French car maker Renault and its Japanese partner Nissan inaugurated Wednesday in India their first joint factory dedicated to the global market, Renault said.
The new site, in the city of Chennai, will begin production in May with a goal of producing up to 400,000 vehicles per year for the Indian market and to be exported to more than 100 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the company said in a statement.
This plant is expected to give direct employment to 1500 and total 6000 including supplies. This a good thing to happen for Chennai.
